tanzanian black tea
Introducing to you Regina Kikoti who lives in a tea growing region of Tanzania.
After a bit of fundraising and the support of Seven Seas Tea tea lovers and Julie from Water For Africa, we managed to acquire a sewing machine. Regina has used this gift to start a small sewing business from her home to help fund her children to attend school.
She makes our colourful tea pouches using local textiles
and the drawstrings are actually shoelaces!
Inside the pouch you will find the strong, black tea grown on small communal lots by local farmers who have limited access to water and tea processing facilities.
This is the tea that you will find being sold at the roadside to help support their families. By purchasing this tea you are directly assisting this Tanzanian community by supporting local employment.
Proceeds of your purchase are also donated to Water For Africa to fund much needed, clean drinking water projects in the region.
A hearty black tea for strong tea lovers.
Ingredients: black tea (camellia sinensis)
To brew: 1tsp tea per cup. Infuse in freshly boiled water 2-3min. Enjoy with or without milk. Sweeten to taste.
